Excellent laptop - exactly what I needed, May 9, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HP Pavilion dv6-6090us Entertainment Notebook PC - Black (Personal Computers) When purchasing my laptop, I had three main criteria - a dual core sandy bridge processor, a separate GPU, and a 15'+ screen. This product excels in all three criteria, and even adds some - the blu-ray player was a nice addition, and the price was while not a bargain, is right for a laptop with these specs.
From what I've seen from previous DV6 models, the brushed aluminium body and improved touchpad is an improvement, and along with a larger chiclet keyboard and 2 usb3 ports, this is very competitive.
PROS:
Excellent gaming capability - I fired up both portal 2 and bulletstorm, and both played smoothly and crisply at the default settings.
Bright, clear screen.
Aluminium body looks professional.
Sandy bridge processor runs cool and quiet, except for moments of heavy gaming.
CONS:
Doesn't quite close all the way and click shut, not a major issue, but could have been avoided
Speakers leave much to be desired, headphones do... Read more

When it arrived and as I opened the package and took it out I was amazed with the manufacturing quality of this laptop.
Aluminum everywhere, great glossy (for those who actually like it) screen, one of the best keybords I've ever seen, fingerprint reader is highly appreciated, Beats audio (4 speakers), bluray!!, HP truevision HD webcam and all the necessary features expected on a laptop of this level.
The mouse pad is outstanding, never felt as comfortable before.
This laptop has great looks and is super fast!!
My only issue is that mine came with a defective power adapter (battery charger)!! Already spoke with HP support and they are sending me a new unit cost free, so well at least they gave me a responsive assitance on this matter. This is the first time that I have an issue with HP products and since its just the charger and not the laptop is not that of a big problem. I guess this... Read more
