Lots of performance and capability for the money, December 20, 2010 By This review is from: Gateway NV55C30u 15.6-Inch Laptop (Satin Black) (Personal Computers) Have had the Gateway NV55c30u for two days now. Lots of performance for the money. Everything works as expected or better out of the box. Wireless connection is at full strength where my other laptops are marginal. I had no issues removing the bundled trial software I didn't want. I bought it to do CAD work and database development and it is quick in both areas. I would by it again!

Up and running... Woo easy does it!, February 1, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gateway NV55C30u 15.6-Inch Laptop (Satin Black) (Personal Computers) I have a couple of laptops for various applications but this has quickly become my favorite to use. Don't pay any attention to the LEMON review, every company have a few lemons in a line. Shame that one fell in to the hands of such a pointed individual, who probably didn't give the tech reps the time of day to replace or fix the item. Anyway, back to the matters at hand. This is a solid laptop, not to big, not to small and it is as fast as my i7 desktop. I do keep the applications to a minimum but office starts in seconds and I can have 20 tabs running and not bat an eye between pages. With the 4 GB DDR3 RAM it keeps pace with the best of them. The display is crisp and HDMI out works amazing for audio and HD resolution. My only gripe is the 128MB of video memory. When "specing" out laptops, the only two I found was this one and an i3 with 1GB of video memory and 3GB of RAM but no Blu-ray player. The decision was clear to me but I think I'll miss that extra video RAM as time goes on,... Read more
